Magma is a startup that has quickly grown to become the leading platform for data-driven maths education. By leveraging handwritten solutions in a digital format, Magma allows teachers to place emphasis on creativity in maths, while gaining key insights into pupil progression. This creates a more engaging, inclusive and pedagogical maths class for all pupils. 

Maths remains the largest challenge for schools, where one in five pupils in year 9 are low performers. Maths is one of the core pillars on which careers are built, and we believe that primary and secondary school maths represents one of the largest opportunities at improving educational outcomes and career prospects for children and young adults. 

Originally founded in Stockholm, Magma is now growing rapidly across the UK, Europe and the US. We are an ambitious team on a meaningful mission of improving maths education for millions of children.

The role

Magma is a sales driven organisation and the sales team enables us to reach hundreds of thousands of teachers and pupils on a daily basis. As Account Executive you will be responsible for sourcing new leads and closing deals with schools, councils and MATs across the UK. You will have a large amount of autonomy in how to drive your pipe forward, but also have continuous support from colleagues. 

You will be attending trade shows and client networking events to find meaningful opportunities. To close deals it is necessary to build relationships with teachers and pedagogical staff as well as the most senior leadership. We have a fun and energetic culture and you will support in building and conveying this culture to customers. You will have the opportunity to visit schools across the UK and even spend time in the classroom to build strong relationships with teachers.

You will have a large impact on how our UK-team functions and grows. As we launched the UK-market in 2023 this is a fantastic opportunity to join early in a journey where there is already a world leading product, strong traction and supportive team in place.

Who you are and what you know

To succeed in the role you need to:

  • Be very ambitious and like chasing challenging targets
  • Like doing business and interacting with decision makers
  • Be a confident and trustworthy person towards senior decision makers as well as teachers and pedagogical staff
  • Be sociable and enjoy trade shows and networking events


  • Experience as Account Executive in B2G or B2B preferably towards education or in SaaS
  • A track record of closing deals and interacting with senior leadership
  • Bachelor's Degree in any field is a strong plus
